You will need: a slab of wood of any size (I use ~12x8" ), acrylic paint consisting of red, blue, yellow, black and white. The acrylic paints we use are from Curry's and we find it is good student-grade paint. The exact names read on our 2L bottles are; bright red (NOT the orange pigment), bright yellow or cadmium yellow, phthalo or primary blue, black or carbon black and titanium white. You will need an assortment of synthetic brushes consisting of a detailed brush#0 and #2, and a medium flat/round #4. A water cup and paper towel to rinse and dry off your brushes.
You may use raw umber for the branches and teal for the bird to make it more blue-greenish.
