You will need: a canvas of any size (we use 10x8" ), acrylic paint consisting of red, blue, yellow, black and white. If you wish you can replace red, yellow and blue with just one colour - BROWN or get brown as an optional colour. The acrylic paints we use are from Curry's and we find it is good student-grade paint. The exact names read on our 2L bottles are; bright red (NOT the orange pigment), bright yellow or cadmium yellow, phthalo or primary blue, black or carbon black and titanium white. You will need an assortment of synthetic brushes consisting of detailed #0 or #2, medium flat/round and a large brush of any shape. A water cup and paper towel to rinse and dry off your brushes.
This tutorial comes with an optional outline and a video tutorial on how to sketch from scratch using a grid method.
