Description
You will need a canvas of any size, and acrylic paint consisting of red, blue, yellow, black and white. The acrylic paints we use are from Curry's and we find it is good student-grade paint. The exact names read on our 2L bottles are; bright red (NOT the orange pigment), bright yellow or cadmium yellow, phthalo blue, black or carbon black and titanium white.
1-2 palette knives (ideally 1 large and 1 small, doesn't matter the shape but just 1 small is also ok), 1-2 mixing pallets we recommend to be flat (you can use a piece of cardboard), paper towels or rags. You may have a hairdryer nearby to help dry your paint in-between layers. For easier and best results use heavy body paint, it works better than thinner paint. We use "Start" acrylic paint from Curry's which is not the heavy body to show you how to get a similar effect without a heavy body.
