You will need a piece of paper (we use 8.5×11 or 9×12) or media art paper. A couple of HB pencils consisting of regular HB, 2B and 4B (4B is recommended but not vital) and a black pencil crayon. You will also need a smudger (a q-tip can work like a smudger), an eraser and a paper towel.
