Join Liesl, Chris and Karin for 4 sessions of drawing and painting your favourite creatures!

On Monday we will be painting a unicorn with acrylic paint or tempera! You will need a canvas or media art paper of any size (we use 8×8″), acrylic paint consisting of red, blue, yellow, black and white. The acrylic paints we use are from Curry’s and we find it is good student-grade paint. The exact names read on our 2L bottles are; bright red (NOT the orange pigment), bright yellow or cadmium yellow, phthalo blue, black or carbon black and titanium white. You will need an assortment of synthetic brushes consisting of detailed #0 and a round #6 – #10 (anything large is just fine). A water cup and paper towel to rinse and dry off your brushes.

On Tuesday we will be drawing a dinosaur egg with HB pencil and coloured pencils of your choice! You will need a piece of paper (we use 8.5×11 or 9×12) or media art paper. An HB pencil (2B is recommended but not vital). For the colouring part grab a set of coloured pencils of your choice (we use Faber-Castell).  You will also need a smudger (a q-tip can work like a smudger), an eraser and a paper towel.

On Wednesday we will be painting a dragon with acrylic or tempera paint! You will need a canvas or media art paper of any size (we use 8×10″), acrylic paint consisting of red, blue, yellow, black and white.

On Friday we will be painting a Mermaid or Merman with watercolour or watered down tempera/acrylic paint! You will need watercolour paper, cake palette watercolours or tube paints, white acrylic paint, pencil, 2-3 soft brushes eg, small detailed #0 and/or#1 and round brush #4 and/or #6, a water cup and paper towel and a plate to trace a perfect circle for the moon.Watercolour paint sets we use are usually cake palettes of various brands.
