You will be walked through online via zoom with artists, Liesl, Chris and Karin on how to draw/paint these beautiful dreamcatchers. We will be donating $6 of each ticket bought and putting it towards, Honouring Indigenous Peoples Charity. This is our small way of spreading awareness, supporting Indigenous Peoples and honouring their culture.
May 24th 7pm EST – Karin will teach you how to draw out her dreamcatcher. Supplies: You will need a piece of paper (we use 8.5×11 or 9×12) or media art paper. A couple of HB pencils consisting of regular HB, 2B and 4B (4B is recommended but not vital). For the colouring part grab a set of coloured pencils of your choice (we use Faber-Castell). You will also need a smudger (a q-tip can work like a smudger), an eraser and a paper towel.
June 2nd 7pm EST – Chris will teach you her watercolour take on her dreamcatcher. Supplies: You will need watercolour paper, cake palette watercolours or tube paints, a fine black waterproof pen such as a Micron pen, pencil, 2-3 soft brushes eg, small detailed #0 and/or#1 and round brush #4 and/or #6, a water cup and paper towel. Also have various sized circular shaped things to trace such as cups, plates, bowls. Watercolour paint sets we use are usually cake palettes of various brands. We recommend Koi, Crayola’s basic set (for absolute beginners) and Windsor and Newton. If you are using tubes, we recommend Windsor and Newton.
June 8th 7pm EST – Liesl will be teaching her acrylic version of the dreamcatcher. Supplies: Canvas or media art paper of your choice in size (we use 11×14 or 12×16), white, black, phthahlo blue, primary yellow, bright red (not the orange hue) acrylic paints. Detailed #0 and #2 brush, medium round #4 and large flat #12 or round. Water cup and paper towel. Highly recommend bringing circle lids or caps to trace for perfect circles!
